In the Beginning

Atengo is an early stage San Francisco-based startup focusing on infusing applications and operating systems with cloud capability. This technology is called Cloud Infusion(TM). The underlying technology provides cloud-powered capabilities for file systems, data objects, and compute intensive applications. Today, filesystem cloud storage or browser-based server applications are the majority of non-email cloud technology deployments.

An Idea

If an app writer or OEM producing a computing system needs cloud functionality, he has to generate all the services required (identification, data object persistance, network strategies, and storage facilities.)

The Name

Atengo is a city in Mexico. It's name is a nahuatl word meaning at the edge of the water. Our offices are on the water, and we produce an Edge server at the boundaries of the LAN and the WAN. The Chinese word for network ( 网络 ) includes the character for net (as in fishing net). Isn't that interesting?
